God in Public: Faith and Morality in a Secular Society

On Tuesday 1st July 2008, The Muhammadi Trust of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Open Discussions (www.open-discussions.com) organised a joint event entitled ''God in Public: Faith and Morality in a Secular Society'.

The guest speakers were:

- Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari - Secretary General of the MCB
- Julian Bond - Director of Christian Muslim Forum
- Hanne Stinson - Cheif Executive of the British Humanist Association

The programme was chaired by Imran Imam.

Speakers were asked to address the following questions:

1. What constitutes morality in a secular society?
2. Can we be moral without having a faith?
3. What role, if any, does religion or faith in a secular society?
4 How can the believers of various faiths work together with people of no faith for the betterment of human society?
